The approach for the sustainability project was based on my interest in communities and interdisciplinary links.
Firstly I tried to define ‘Commoning’: Public space and Public Goods are not necessarily commons, it takes political actions on the hand of citizens and the people to make them commons. Narrowing the definition down to the community, it defined ‘Food Commoning’: creating a network of places in which communing takes place, sharing the products and resources generated by those activities in “closed-loop” cycles that keeps the value within the project rather than allowing it be capitalized upon.
After setting out my definitions and starting project, the already existing project, the Merton ‘Big’ fridge, it focused on creating a closed loop for the community to follow.
